E-911 Communications
Cherokee County E-911 Communications Center is staffed by public safety professionals who are trained to answer 911 and non-emergency telephone calls as well as dispatch police, fire/rescue and emergency medical services. The 911 team works in partnership with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Andrews Police Department, Murphy Police Department, Cherokee County Emergency services, 13 Volunteer Fire Departments, North Carolina Highway Patrol, NC and US Forestry/Wildlife Divisions to ensure the safety and quality of life for residents, businesses and visitors of Cherokee County. Each telecommunicator is trained and certified both as North Carolina Telecommunicators and Emergency Medical Dispatchers. Theresa Creasman is the PSAP Director.

In 2021, a total of 73,688 calls for service was requested through Cherokee County E-911 Communications Center.
Cherokee County E-911 Communications provides primary and secondary support communication assignments for calls to the following agencies:

Certification
Each member of our professional team is certified as a North Carolina Telecommunicator, through the North Carolina Justice Academy and as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher, through the International Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch. Today, the 911 center is a model of integrity and professionalism, striving daily to provide the highest quality of service to the citizens and visitors of Cherokee County.
