Information Technology
Purpose
The purpose of the Technology Services Department is to serve as a consultant to the County Commissioners, County Manager, other departments and staff of Cherokee County in the management and use of information technology. This provides better and more cost effective services to the citizens of Cherokee County.
Duties
The duties of this department include:
- Creation, acquisition, development, maintenance, distribution, training and exchange of spatial or geographic information
- Enhancing and improving information exchange from department to department and to the citizens of Cherokee county
- Providing tools and training for data analysis
- Support for all areas of communication including voice, radio, and data
Mission Statement
The IT Department will strive to provide the highest quality computer and communication services to other county departments for the the benefit of the citizens of Cherokee County
Through the development and contribution of all employees to the maximum of their potential, the IT Department seeks to improve efficiency and productivity, maintain hardware and software cost effectiveness, while maximizing both the access to information and the utilization of all County computer resources and communication capability.

Our goal is to be North Carolina’s leader in the quality of computer and communications services provided to other county departments for the the benefit of the citizens of Cherokee County
