POSITION: DEPUTY TAX COLLECTOR
HOURS: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM, Monday- Friday. It is expected that some work will be performed outside the normal work hours, as may be necessary.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Responsible for collection of taxes, review of delinquent accounts and follow up, preparation of various reports related to taxes collected and other duties as needed. Some travel may be necessary to receive additional training as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, calculate ratios and percentages; ability to maintain effective working relationships with the public and co-workers; ability to prepare daily bank deposits.
DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduation or GED and specialized training and a minimum of six months prior experience in an administrative or clerical field. Preference will be given to applicants with prior tax experience.
