Investigator Robert “Todd” White was born and raised in Cherokee County. After graduating high school, Detective White joined the United States Army where he served ten years. Afterward, Todd joined the North Carolina National Guard where he served as an MP before retiring in 2011.


Investigator White began his career with the Cherokee County Office of the Sheriff in 2001 where he worked part-time until becoming full-time in 2004 as a uniformed patrol officer. While serving with the Office of the Sheriff, Todd was active on the SERT Team, where he received training in Basic and Intermediate SWAT as well as specialized training in Hostage and High Risk Warrant Service. Detective White is also trained in Drug Enforcement for Patrol Officers, Interview and Interrogation, Intoxilyzer Operations and has received training in Search Warrant and Writing Service Methods. Todd has been recognized by the Governor of the State of North Carolina for his exceptional performance as an investigator.
